Welcome to the newest class of SSW Alumni!

First, allow me to say congratulations to all the Summer 2011 graduates who recently completed their degrees at the UGA School of Social Work. These are truly exciting times and we wish nothing but the best for you in your future endeavors.

As you prepare to move into your profession, please know that Office of Alumni Affairs is constantly working to bring value to your degree. We would love to keep in touch with you so we can be a resource for you throughout your career. When you connect with us through Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and this Alumni Blog, you'll get all the latest news about the School of Social Work, as well as upcoming events. You'll also gain access to an invaluable network of your classmates, other alumni, faculty and staff of the School.

We're confident in the training you have received at UGA and we're eager to hear about what you're doing after graduation. There are two major ways you can communicate with us. First, be sure to update your most current contact information at the UGA Alumni Affairs page. Secondly, you can participate in the Graduate Survey, which is administered through the Clark Howell Career Center. A few months after graduation, you will be receiving a phone call from the career center asking you questions about your career choices. Please note that this information is confidential, unless you elect to identify yourself in the survey responses. We ask that you answer as many questions as possible. This invaluable information is forwarded to us and helps us demonstrate to future students the many successful career paths a UGA Social Work grad can take.

We can also be a great tool if you are currently in the job market. Our office works with employers around the country to help identify and select qualified Social Work candidates. To assist you in your search, we are pleased to offer an alumni Resume Drop Box (Adobe PDF preferred). We regularly review resumes and do our best to match candidates with appropriate opportunities.

In the meanwhile, we would love to hear from you! Please feel free to add comments on our blog posts and  e-mail us with information about your new jobs, promotions, business endeavors, marriages, children, etc. (We love photos, by the way.) We'll routinely use this blog and our other social media platforms to share your successes with the UGA Social Work alumni community.

Go Dawgs!
