Dr. Terri Lewinson, a 2001 Ph.D graduate from the University of Georgia School of Social Work takes a few minutes to reflect on her UGA training. Lewinson is currently an associate professor at Georgia State University and was recently named a John A. Hartford Geriatric Social Work Scholar, a prestigious award presented by the Gerontological Society of America (GSA).
The award consists of a $100,000 grant, which Dr. Lewinson will use to complete her upcoming research on the effects of elderly residents living in extended stay hotel facilities. The award also features a multi-year mentorship by a scholar from one of the Hartford Scholars Program's earlier cohorts.
